We provide a hiking trail 500 meters to the Aspy River, where you can swim, fish or kayak. If you launch your canoe or kayak at the end of the trail you will be able to paddle along the Aspy River, head to Middle Harbour or out to the Atlantic Ocean. When hiking back you can take the long trail (2.2 km) along the river or short trail (1km) through the woods back to the campground. All trails are clearly marked with distances for your convenience.

The playground is centrally located for all children to enjoy. Have a game of pool or darts in the campground Recreation Hall. Pitch horse shoes in the horse shoe pits located in the common area while taking in the view of Aspy Bay and the surrounding mountains. Or just relax on the benches, take some pictures and meet with other travellers.

At the gift shop we sell many unique handcrafted items such as wool socks, baby sweaters with bonnets, painted sceneries on various media, and beautiful framed photographs. You can purchase sweatshirts, t-shirts and hats with an embroidered Hideaway Campground & Oyster Market logo as a reminder of your stay. Basic groceries such as pop, ice, canned food, ice cream, marshmallows, firewood, other camping supplies and a payphone are available for your convenience at the campground office.

The addition of a patio deck to the campground office will allow you to enjoy Aspy Bay Oysters, snow crab or lobster in the fresh Atlantic air. If you would like to stay in touch, we now offer Free High Speed Wireless Internet service.

You will be pleased to find 6 individual washrooms with showers in the main washhouse/laundromat that gives you the privacy that we all crave when camping outdoors. The centrally located dishwashing center with hot water, a double sink and a recyclable bin is provided for easy cleanup to all campers. Water spigots are located throughout the campground. We provide the only fresh water fill and dump station for trailers in the area.
