Aspy Bay Hiking

Within a 15 km radius of Hideaway Campground you will find a wide variety of hiking trails, which are excellent for bird watching and wildlife sightings. A whale watch tour or a deep-sea fishing excursion will give you the opportunity not only to see whales but the magnificent coast line, seals and numerous shore birds.

Concerts at the Octagon Center are very popular with the locals as well as our visitors. Bike rentals, kayaking, gift shops and grocery store are very close to the campground. Several restaurants ranging from gourmet dinning to take-out are a short drive. A community museum is another big attraction. With miles of sandy beaches, swimming in Aspy Bay and beach combing are a relaxing way to spend your day.

The Cabot landing Provincial Park is the landing site of John Cabot in 1497. When he first laid his eyes upon the land he was amazed by the tall timbers and the rugged beauty for as far as his eyes could see. The same would hold true today.
